Databases

Let the search begin!

A database will help you figure out where you need to go, digitally or face to face, to look for an item or information that you are searching for. Sometimes it will provide a link to the item or information.

STEAM Powered Databases

All three of these resources are available through your local or state library website and have a variety of topics covered in their content. They are included because they have loads of information on the STEAM subjects and at many grade levels. If your library is not part of The Library Network or a Michigan Library, check with your library to see how you can access these at your home!

LearningExpress Library

Newton's Pendulum

The LearningExpress Library is filled with learning resources for all ages (yes, adults, too). It is included here because of the School Center. The School Center is divided into Elementary, Middle, and High School areas. One highlight is the math practice, tutorial, and ebooks area but there is so much more!

NovelList K-8 PLUS

E-book Reader

NovelList is a great source for finding what you want to read next and can be searched in many ways. While libraries are closed it is also good that it links to a record of whether the title is available in digital form. One of the Genre options is STEM fiction so it is a great database to include here!

Explora for Middle Schools

Education Books Bookshelves

Explora for Middle Schools gathers magazines and reference books into one place for simple searching on topics like current events, science, and biographies all of which are useful to search when you are going full STEAM ahead in your research! It also provides a link to other databases.
